Didn't know you could ski/ride in Australia?? Having spoken to several of you it sounds like Perisher resort in Australia really is one of the best kept secrets around!! This place is amazing with four resorts combining to make one of the largest ski areas in the southern hemisphere!
"The snow was already falling when we headed up from Sydney and the season hadn't even begun yet! Opening a day early was still not soon enough for this crew who hiked to the top of the mountain their first day in town to get some fresh tracks! These guys and gals have been training up on the hill with the best of the best (National Demo Team members and APSI examiners) and they are just days away from pulling on their instructor uniforms and heading out to teach their first lessons of the season!" - Sarah, EA Program Manager

Goggles – The ins and outs of the perfect eye shield
When you are on the snow for a season you need goggles for two reasons:
No glasses will completely protect you from all UV radiation as there are gaps at the top and bottom
Unless you want to look like a 1940’s fighter pilot or Mr Chips wearing glasses with a helmet is difficult to pull off (and we all know you should wear a helmet)
This means you should think about getting some goggles. Now these don’t have to be expensive, especially if you are coming through one of our training programs as you will have hookups with local shops and instructor discounts. But there are two important things to consider when purchasing goggles:
Consider getting some which come with two different lenses that you can interchange. This is because a highly reflective (e.g Oakley Iridium Fire Lense) are fantastic when it is sunny and bright with fresh snow, but in low light conditions or days when its snowing a lighter lense is much better
If you do have a helmet or are going to buy one ensure the goggles are helmet compatible. This will often be written on them, or obvious from wider pivot points on the sides.
Get some which are going to allow for good venting. By this we mean air flow through the goggle – as the last thing you want is to have them fog up just as you are about to drop in somewhere steep!
Make sure they look cool!
What have others had to say?
"I was a recent participant in an Educating Adventures Ski Instructor Training and Work Placement Program at Lake Tahoe. I trained for 3 weeks and became a certified level 1 ski instructor. I enjoyed my experience and met some amazing people and experienced incredible culture. I highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in following a ski career. Thanks Educating Adventures!”
